because it won’t stop…
Conclusions
It rained on the snow
today making perfect
spirals of
light and dark
in the cracking ice.
If I lay prone I can see it
dripping in quiet swirls through the hardened water;
like syrup through a sieve.
I’m concentrating on minutia
and the bitter water is soaking
through the fiber of my socks, my shirt, my jeans,
making me numb.
